Western Downs Friends of the Library (Friends) is a group of enthusiastic library supporters who are interested in promoting and enhancing Western Downs Libraries and strengthening its links with the community.

What do Friends do?
The primary purpose of Western Downs Friends of the Library is to be of service to the Library and the community. The aim is to assist the Library and advocate on their behalf.

How do I become a Friend?
Membership is open to everyone aged 18 and over. To join simply email president Glenn Shipway at

Friends appreciate all our members and we are always keen to accept fresh ideas and willing help from new members. Whether you wish to participate as an active member in the organisation and running of events and projects, or as a supporting member, attending events and offering encouragement, there is a place for you at Friends.
