Summer Reading Club

Join the Club! Join the Challenge! The Summer Reading Club is all about discovering new and exciting ways to keep reading all summer long. All ages can complete the challenges, unlock badges and earn fun rewards.

Why is summer reading important? The summer school holidays are a time for kicking back, catching up with friends, playing outside and enjoying the freedom that comes with being young, having no responsibilities, and no homework for the summer! But all this free time can result in a loss of learning gained during the school year (often referred to as the ‘Summer Slide’). The great news is that basic skills are easy to maintain as your kids enjoy their free time! The Summer Reading Club inspires opportunities to keep your kids reading, playing, exploring and discovering all summer long.

Don’t know what to read? Sink your teeth into tales of myth, legend and wonder with our suggestions below, or ask your local librarian – we’re always happy to make recommendations.
