The Opal Miner’s Daughter follows the journey of Dr Riley Brand, a beautiful, leggy obstetrician, who takes 4 weeks leave from her Sydney practice. She leaves her comfy harbour apartment, her overbearing male friend, and heads to Lightning Ridge, with attention to finding her mother who has done a sea change late in life and become an opal miner.
To support herself while searching for her mum, she has taken a posting as a fertility expert. The small medical centre has just one doctor and a receptionist.
Riley soon has new clients filling her appointment book for help in fertility matters. Dr Konrad Grey, the local doctor develops feelings for Riley, he knows he will soon have to confess them or risk losing her for good, as her four weeks soon comes to an end, and she returns to her practice in Sydney.
Will the dust, opal lust, and Friday ladies night be enough to make her stay? Or will the local doctor have to accept it was just a fling?
