Indigo Nash is a country music singer from Australia making it big in the states. The pressure of performing the last few gigs on this tour is taking its toll on her, using valium and alcohol to help her get over her anxiety; and an attack on her after a show has triggered nightmares. This seems to be causing her body guard Harley Knight no end of worry. The end of the tour couldn’t come quick enough. As fate has it, the tour came to a halt when a call came through from home saying her father, Frederick Nash, had a heart attack and died, and Indigo needed to return home to organise his affairs.
Going back to her home town opened a lot of bad memories. Her drunken father raised Indigo and her brother Robbie after their mum had died. She didn’t have a very happy home life and it was even worse after her brother Robbie went missing.
Harley and his sister Amy had inherited the Tumbleweed Tavern from their grandparents. Amy was left to run it while her brother was overseas being Indigo’s body guard. A new venue had opened up and trade had fallen away. Feeling bad about employing Harley, when he should of been home helping his sister run the tavern, Indigo decided to invest some of her earnings decking the barn out into a honky-tonk venue for weddings and parties.
Indigo and Amy where shocked at the state of her fathers house, the verandah was littered with empty beer cans, inside was smelly and untidy, the yard was overgrown. Decay was every where. After this visit to her family home, the nightmares came back in force, but she couldn’t figure out what had triggered them.
With so many things to do before she returned alone to the states for her next tour, she just didn’t have time for the feelings she was having for Harley. It didn’t fit in with her plans of winning a Grammy award. This award was more important than finding love, settling down and having a family. Well, things just turned out a little different, didn’t they?
