Christmas Craft season kicks off in Bell
Western Downs Libraries have kicked off our Christmas Craft workshops early this year, with air drying clay Christmas ornaments at Bell.
A happy group of ladies turned up at Bell Library expecting a fun and relaxing craft workshop – and that’s exactly what they got! Attendees were able to paint pre-made ornaments, or make their own from scratch. Some even tried both. The ornaments can be used for Christmas tree decorations, gift tags, or just general decor year-round.
You can make and paint your own ornaments at home, just remember to allow a few days for your pieces to dry before painting them. Unlike polymer clay, you can’t speed up the drying process by baking air-drying clay. Air drying clay is relatively inexpensive to buy and doesn’t need special tools or equipment to get started (great for beginners as well as those just looking for a holiday hobby).
We have a full season of Christmas, School Holiday and craft workshops for adults and children coming up over the holidays, so check out what’s on at your local branch here.
If you’d like some more craft inspiration, we have a great range of craft books you can borrow. Reserve one today!
