STEAMSquad at Home

Western Downs Libraries have turned all the best STEAMSquad activities (plus a few new ones) into STEAMSquad at Home kits!

Despairing of never doing another science experiment? Feeling pent up artistic frustration with no outlet? Wanting to build engineering marvels but have no inspiration? Wish there was something you could do after school that’s heaps of fun and you learn something too? You must be suffering from #STEAMSquad withdrawals!

Great news! You can now borrow kits full of your favourite STEAMSquad experiments to do at home any time you like!

Check out the range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math experiments that you can try out by yourself, with friends, or even with your annoying siblings. The activities have all been designed to be easily adaptable for a range of ages, though maybe with a little bit of adult help.

Here are some of our favourites:

Ozobot

Learn the basics of coding and robotics with this mini robot.

Grow Crystals

Grow yummy crystals you can eat, using household ingredients.

Squishy circuits

Learn the basics of electrical circuits by playing with playdough.

Paper aeroplanes

The ultimate in easy, fun experiments. Grab some paper and test out a variety of different paper plane designs to see which one is Top Gun.

Nature art

Explore symmetry in nature and use flowers and leaves to create beautiful artworks.
