Every year, this beloved event brings families, farmers, and friends together. It’s a weekend filled with laughter, competition, and country charm.
The History
For generations, the Wandoan Show has been a cornerstone of the community, a place where old traditions meet new faces. From the charming home-baked goods competition to the impressive cattle judging, the show highlights the best of rural life. The cattle judging rings will once again echo with the sounds of experienced graziers sharing wisdom. The young handlers proudly showcasing their livestock, hoping to win that coveted blue ribbon.
The Big Hits!
The Prime Cattle section is a major highlight, showcasing the best of the region’s livestock and the dedication of local cattle producers. Meanwhile, the Jerrard Pavilion draws crowds eager to see prize-winning poultry of all shapes and sizes, from elegant layers to magnificent roosters.
The Willacy pavilion, a true treasure trove of local talent, will be bursting with beautifully crafted quilts, intricate woodwork, photography and schoolwork. The baking and preserves section always draws a crowd, with the judges carefully selecting the finest scones, jams, and cakes—a true testament to the skills of Wandoan’s home cooks.
For those with a passion for gardening and fresh produce, the Juandah Pavilion will be filled with an impressive array of homegrown fruits, vegetables, and plants. From the largest pumpkins to the freshest herbs, this display is a celebration of local green thumbs and the region’s rich agricultural heritage.

Adding to the excitement, the Wandoan Photo Challenge is on again for 2025! With a total prize pool of over $6,000, photographers of all skill levels have the chance to compete for fantastic prizes—and of course, the all-important bragging rights. The top 30 entries will be on display for a People’s Choice Award, allowing visitors to vote for their favourite shoot.
For the thrill-seekers, the showgrounds will come alive! There will be carnival rides, sideshow games, and the ever-popular dodgem cars. Children will race from one attraction to the next, their laughter mingling with the sounds of music and celebration. The smell of barbecued steak sandwiches and fresh fairy floss will fill the air. It’s a reminder that the best show food is always made with love.

A special highlight of the show is the WAGS (Women and Girls at the Show) tent. The WAGS tent is a welcoming space for ladies to gather, chat, and enjoy a moment of relaxation.
